My recommendation for those new to InfoSec:

CompTIA Security+ Certification

After a while in the field:

(ISC)² CISSP Certification
https://www.isc2.org/cissp/default.aspx

These certs will give you the most bang for your buck.

Hello everyone! I'm a Network Specialist and am looking at starting down the network security realm of things. Anyone have a good idea on where I should begin. I have a number of Associate level certs already, as well as a B.A.S degree in Computer Science, specializing in networking.
I have been trying to decide if taking the Cisco Security route or vendor neutral route would be better. Any suggestions would be helpful!

Hi Everyone, I am a Network Security Engineer for a University. I do a lot of penetration testing and focus a lot on web app security.
I have my GCIH and GWAS and am going to SANS Vegas for SEC560 and am going to take the exam for my GPEN cert.
