Great question!! I too am looking at building my education with an online degree, but am very skeptical of any online schools, as far as the acceptance of the degree in the work marketplace
Years ago I took some online courses from what later became part of University of Phoenix. The classes were great, I even got calls from my instructors asking what happened when I dropped out. That has been almost 10 years, so I don't know if that is still the way they work

Have you looked at EC-Council Univesity? They do several distance learning degree programs that surrounds IT Security. Apart from that I would contact your local college's and Universities, to see if they do any online/home study degree programs.

More thing to note, be careful when selecting an online college or University. There are alot of degree mills that pretend to be licenced/accredited educational establishments that issue degrees/diploma that aren't worth the paper they're printed on (and in essence wasted money).

I am not certain what type of degree you are looking for-but I formerly attended Walden University online in Minneapolis for an MPH degree with the intent in blending it with my IT education to be able to specialize in the newly emerging field of "Public Health Informatics". It was a great school as far as the academic professors and faculty were concerned, however [WARNING], This school is a money-mill to say the least. Their student services are non-existent. You cannot even ask to speak to an advisor. Moreover you cannot even correspond with your classmates online without getting a 'warning' from the advisement department that you should not be discussing individual grades, what you thing of the coursework etc. Thats right, we actually got a listserve to ALL students stating NOT to use the classroom forum for these types of discussions as we were considered "inciting the other classmates with personal issues". My personal result was that they led me all the way to the end of the classes with only the practicum to go! Once I got there I asked a question about my safety since this was a community health based MPH and was assured that the practicum coordinator would help out. Well she sure did. By the end of the week she never called me, phoned, emailed, inquired what my concerns were or anything. But she DID send me an email and registered letter telling me that "I was dismissed from the practicum" with no reason and I am still in the process of finding out why. I now have a lawyer handling the situation and we will soon see who is going to be working next year and who is not since I have a great education from DeVry University in CIS to rely on.

Bottom line, Walden has recently introduced an MSIM this summer. I would NEVER recommend this university. Their tech department is barely able to keep the e-classrooms going let along be able to teach IT classes? BEWARE OF WALDEN unless you have time and money to waste. They are the worst!

Duy,
It depends on what you want to learn.
Is it a cert that you want to gain ?
I think you should pick the certification that you want to gain.
Research the free online materials available.
Join the forums and newsgroups - get a used book from one of those online stores- spend some quality time studying.
Its easy to build your own home lab - depending on the cert you want to gain. A computer with decent CPU decent RAM and extra drive space can easily become your "enterprise"
Pull this off and you can prove how self motivated and driven you are
I hope this is what you had in mind.
