The current economic downturn hasn't affected my job in the IT field, in fact I'm in the process of getting a 3rd person for my dept.

To be fair though, I do work in the public sector (the education part of the public sector) in the UK where ICT is one of the Government targets, we've been requesting a 3rd person for the last 2 years from upper management and the 3rd person will only be an IT Apprentice.

Sorry for the delay in responding to this post.

The economy has affected my job but not to the point in where people are going to be let go. I work for a non-profit organization within the sports industry. Last week everyone within the organization received a memo from the Big-Willies about how they will be cutting back dramatically on spending. We also rely on sponsorship from other company’s (Lexus, Rolex, etc.) and because they’re cutting back on their sponsorship that kind of puts us in a bind.

This means our bonus will not be that great nor will our salary increases but in times like these in where so many individuals are losing their jobs (look at what happened to the poor souls at Lehman Brothers) my wife (who is a teacher) and I are grateful that both of us still have a job.

So in a way…the economy is affecting my job…but thank my luck stars…I still have one.
